SeaSkills Maritime Academy is located in the heart of the City of Coimbatore, a city well known for its pleasant climate , peaceful and pollution free atmosphere.
The Institute is located in KGiSL Campus- Saravanampatti- surrounded by scenic beauty, in a congenial study atmosphere.
The Institute is founded by its Director- Capt. H. Kumar , with a vision to provide training and knowledge to enhance the Skills required to be competent sailor. With the invent of technology, short manning crew, shorter port out-turns , ever increasing regulations and documentation, shipboard jobs become demanding and a burden on the young Officers, who do not have a mentor to guide him. Transforming from a Cadet to an Officer is a big leap, which requires not only classroom lectures but more of mentoring and training in Skill development.
Capt. H. Kumar has a sound academic background. He has obtained “A” Grade in the 2nd Mates Orals and 9/10 in the Mates Orals and passed Master’s Orals in the first attempt. He has been a guest lecturer/ visiting faculty at various Maritime Training Institutes since 2005.
At SeaSkills we have a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated young Master Mariners , who have been sailing till recent past and are updated with the latest trend of knowledge and skills required in the Industry.
We do not just teach you to pass your exams… we train you to acquire the Skills necessary for a safe, efficient and stress- free working atmosphere on board your vessels. Unique of its kind, we at SeaSkills Maritime Academy, innovate teaching methodologies which will enhance and develop the learning and retaining Skills of the individual and help you “practice on board” what we “preach here”.

Facilities at SeaSkills Maritime Academy
• Our core strength is experienced qualified and dedicated faculties. Young Master mariners who have been sailing till recent past, and are updated with the latest trend of knowledge and Skills required for a life at Sea..
• Training with Simulators, Projectors, etc to comprehend better.
• Air conditioned Class rooms.
• Adequately stocked library with foreign author books and e-library.
• Twin sharing accommodation with TV/ Tel in each room at nominal cost. Common Internet facilities, recreation, indoor/ outdoor games in the hostel.
• Ample parking space, cafeteria, Indoor / outdoor games/ gymnasium within the premises.

• We assist in Orals preparations/ mock interviews to appear for Orals.

• 2nd Mates will be taken for sight seeing trips every month. Candidates booking for other courses will get an opportunity to visit any one of the above places on the completion of course.
