International Maritime Academy (IMA) is functioning under a registered Educational Society named SRI RAAJA RAAJESWARI EDUCATION SOCIETY and established on the year 1999 in the chennai city. The IMA is Approved by the Directorate General of shipping (DGS), Ministry of shipping, Government of India vide their letter No: 3-TR(48/99) on Dec 1999.

In order to provide the technical education in the field of Merchant Navy, IMA was established. The courses being conducted at IMA is highly job oriented in the worldwide shipping companies. The young boys are motivated properly & trained in a disciplined manner to work with various national in the International shipping companies.

• The Academy has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification by Indian Register Quality Systems.

• Our Academy is Graded as ” VERY GOOD ” by ICRA for the Infrastructural facilities and other features.

• Our Academy is the study center for “YASHWANTRA CHAVAN MAHARASHTRA OPEN UNIVERSITY (YCMOU) NASHIK” for the award of B.Tech(Marine engineering)Degree, B.Sc (Nautical Science) Degree.

• Our Academy is collaborated with “INDRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY (IGNOU)”,for the award of Diploma Nautical Science which further leads to obtain B.Sc Nautical Science.

• IMA has a placement cell to interact with the leading international reputation among the shipping companies, The International shipping companies are conducting campus interviews to select our Trainees for their requirement.
