CMET prides in itself in teaching you what you need to know to be a competent Sailor/ Nautical Officer / Engineer Officer. The foundation stone of the institute was laid down by Capt H. Subramanian , then Principal , LBSCAMSAR, Mumbai on 10th April 1999 at its present place . Formerly the institute started by the name of Indian Institute of Maritime Studies , Lucknow . At the behest of DG Shipping, the name was changed to “CENTRE FOR MARITIME EDUCATION & TRAINING” in Year 2003.
CMET has a commitment to quality training. The Institute is ISO 9001:2000 Quality certified by Lloyd’s and rated Good institute by CRISIL Grading. All the courses offered at CMET are approved by Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India It is established in more than 3.5 acres of land in the city of Lucknow.CMET is the only institute in entire North India to offer a prestigious course like “Advanced Fire Fighting course”. Apart from AFF, CMET is offering about 12 Modular courses & 1 competency course approved by DG shipping,India.
The CMET is headed by Capt. Noor Iman Beg, Master Mariner ,who is Ex T.S. Rajendra, Master Mariner in Merchant Navy having 28 years of total experience . Having sailed with best companies in the Industry for 28 years out of which 18 years as Master mariner.
The faculty consists of 16 Full / part time members who are highly professional and having a vast working as well as teaching experience
The institute prides itself in Preparing competent Sailor/ Nautical Officer / Engineer Officers.It shares a special bond with the students and each one is free to discuss their problems and requirements.
The Company’s progress is attributed to a team of dedicated world-class professionals, consisting of master mariners, chief engineers and ground staff.
